The digital games that have history as a theme are diverse and cover a range of wide range of past periods. For the development of these games, the developers use different means to seek to understand this history and build representations of her in her games. However, most of these games end up culminating in something that historiography itself had already overcome: representation of great battles, people and events. The purpose of this text is to discuss these “traditional” historical games in counterpart with the use of memories to build “humanized” historical games of the past. We will use some games that represent the First World War as an example, to lead the discussion and seeking to reflect on how memory can be used through historical research, to build games that perceive other subjects and perspectives of history, in search of a problematization of the past.
