Abstract

One of the challenges posed by contemporary South Africa is the construction of the ways of being in a post-apartheid society. In this sense, this article discusses how the half-open wounds of European colonialism establish colonialities transversalized by the imposition of whiteness as a hegemony. The text is composed of reports of experiences established by me, as the author who lived in the country while carrying out field research for my doctorate, as well as theoretical discussions of, mainly, South African authors or intellectuals who carried out academic research in the territory. The main objective is to present the concept that I call "multifaceted whiteness" and its consequences in a post-colonial society, but which still lives the echoes of European colonialism.
