The lead question intended to understand how opacity has been used as strategic centrality in the reproduction of coloniality in relations between subjects and digital culture. Revealing the opacity factor can put subjects on alert about dangers that permeate digital relationships: the costs and gains in delivering personal data that reveal our tastes, preferences, and choices. We aim to share discussions in the field of Information Science and other related fields, shedding light and raising questions about coloniality in digital culture. We seek a lucid literature review in the decolonial perspective, including bringing examples of the veiled operability of coloniality through opacity. We also brought three examples of opacity efficient factor in reproduction of data colonialism.
