FONTES DIGITAIS: A DIGITALIZAÇÃO DE PROCESSOS-CRIMES E AS MORTES NO PRESÍDIO DO SERROTÃO (1991-2008)

Abstract

The objective is to present the way in which, while we digitalize the criminal processes of the detainees of the deaths section of the of the prison archive of the Prison of Serrotão, we find processes that make up a decade, and that demonstrate what are the main causes of the deaths of the detainees in prisons, where murders by fellow inmates stand out while serving time in the prison's closed regime. From them, we expose the cases of Anderson Alves Costa, hated even before entering the prison, Adailton Lima, aka Guinea, hated for extorting and violating other prisoners, and Antônio Carlos Sousa, Coyote, quartered. On another level, the second cause of death of prisoners in prison is the murder in the streets of the city of Campina Grande, while the prisoners fulfilled the semi-open regime with external work, on which, we observe the processes of Ailton Carnaúba, murdered within the mandatory recolhiment of the prison, of Antônio Teixeira do Nascimento, aka Bodinho, murdered in the city's Central Fair, after serving several years in prison in the closed and semi-open regime, and of Ailton José, lynched in the neighborhood where he lived. Obviously, that in a collective regime of men of different ages and, some with health problems, natural deaths occurred, some of them like tuberculosis, seems to be a prison disease, as observed in the medical records of Aelson Ribeiro, or Antônio Balbino de Lima, who on the day of his arrival had a sudden illness and died. Finally, the reference to two specific cases, one death due to an attempt to escape, and the other due to an accident at work, was the case of Adeildo Alves, known as Lito, who removed the handcuffs and tried to steal the gun from the criminal police officer and Antônio Pereira dos Santos, Bagajeiro, who, in addition to being a snitch, traveled from the prison to the city dump, in the bucket of a garbage collection truck, until he fell off the vehicle and died.
