Abstract

This article discusses the field of Digital Humanities that has become increasingly popular in academia. It addresses questions such as what is Digital Humanities, what new things researchers in this field have proposed, in what ways technology can help research without taking away the protagonism of the scientist, and how research related to Digital Humanities has contributed to science. We found that with the COVID-19 pandemic occurred the popularization of the Digital Humanities in Brazil, context in which questionings and explorations about the field became more frequent. Focusing on History, we propose to try to answer the questions asked initially in an introductory way, based on the exploration of the literature and the academic environment.
