THE HISTORY OF EUROCENTRISM THROUGHOUT THE GOOGLE NGRAM PLATFORM

Resumo

The present paper analyses the history of the concept of Eurocentrism throughout Google Ngram’s platform. We investigated the word in English and Spanish, creating two different and more general databases for this research. The goal here is to trace its different meanings throughout time. It is about the reasons for its social-time apparitions, trying to read the “historical climate” in different moments. The other qualitative prism relates to papers and books that used the word, seeking to compare different epochs and attributed meanings of Eurocentrism.
