The book Digital Humanities: Culture in the Face of New Technologies, by Dominique Vinck, examines the transformations in the humanities in response to digitalization and the adoption of new technologies. Vinck discusses the dematerialization of cultural heritage, the impact of quantification on humanistic analysis, and the ethical and methodological challenges brought by digital tools. The work also explores technological inequalities between the global north and south, as well as the predominance of English in digital academic production. Vinck argues that while technologies offer new possibilities, it is essential to preserve the traditional values of the humanities, such as critical reflection and ethical commitment.
