Narrative Strategies in a Transmedia Universe: An Analysis of the Character Morgana from League of Legends

This article analyses the character Morgana, from the fictional universe of League of Legends, through the lens of transmedia narratives. The study is grounded in the concept of storyworld and in Martinez’s media dimensions framework, combining theory and practice to examine how the character is constructed and reconfigured across different media — base game, comic books, cinematics, literary short stories, and spin-off games. Using a qualitative, analytical-interpretative approach, the research explores the narrative, aesthetic, and structural specificities that contribute to expanding and deepening Morgana’s identity, portraying her as a figure of complex moral and symbolic duality. Findings indicate that the character’s transmedia trajectory strengthens the cohesion and ontological depth of Runeterra’s universe while exemplifying the potential of transmedia storytelling as a strategy for narrative expansion and for fostering aesthetic and emotional engagement.
