Brief considerations on the historian's craft in the digital age

The article provides a preliminary examination of the challenges surrounding the historian’s craft in the digital era, articulating analyses grounded in contributions from significant theoretical and bibliographical references. In light of the proliferation of narratives about the past on social media, documentary criticism, interdisciplinarity, and Immediate History gain prominence. In this context, methodological rigor becomes imperative in the analysis of digital sources, understood as discursive constructions permeated by symbolic disputes and social representations. The study concludes by emphasizing the need for a historiographical practice that is critical, ethical, and committed to the complexities of the present time.
