Formal education and cultural heritage: the teaching of history in basic education schools in the state of Tocantins

This article presents a summary of the work developed under the auspices of contributing to the teaching-learning process of the discipline of History in basic education schools, based on archaeological research in Miracema do Tocantins and Lajeado, in the State of Tocantins, which is supported by the heritage education methodology aimed to support teachers regarding the importance of identified archaeological sites and the different cultural dimensions of the regional context, from the perspective of appropriation by students and consequent appreciation/preservation by local society.
